On Tuesday, March 13th, the Tahoe Arts Alliance and the Nevada Arts Council facilitated a public meeting to discuss the vision for arts and culture in Tahoe's bi-state South Shore region. The Tahoe South Shore Arts Town Meeting was standing room only at Tahoe Mountain Lab as community members came out in force to help assess the state of the current arts environment in South Lake Tahoe and voice their ideas for the future vision.

Local Artist and member of the Tahoe Activist Artists and the Tahoe Art League, Ellen Nunes - EllenNunesFineArt.com, whose work will be on display at Benko Art Gallery in April and is currently showing at the Tahoe Art League Art Center Gallery and the El Dorado County Library in South Lake Tahoe (map), states, "It was exciting to see a packed room. Lots of familiar faces! We had a big brainstorming session listing our assets, challenges and vision for art on the South Shore. Teachers, gallery owners, artists of all mediums were putting in ideas then breaking out into groups. ... It was inspiring to hear all of the ideas we artists have and what we envision for the future for South Lake Tahoe."

Following on the heels of the empowering Arts Town Meeting, was the Tahoe Arts Alliance Membership Drive on Thursday, April 5th at Lake Tahoe Community College, Duke Theatre.
